FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 1, 2014, Fresno, CA, The Lime Lite Restaurant and Lounge has been open for business for a half-century this year, making it one of the oldest operations of its kind in the region. In its present North Fresno location, near Shaw and Palm, for the last 15 years, the fine dining establishment and bar was originally located at Clinton and Highway 99 where it was opened by Bob and Dolly Niklanovich. Eventually, they sold the Lime Lite to niece, Cathy Milutinovich and her husband, George, who operated it for 35 years. In 2012, Brandon Smittcamp bought the Lime Lite and manages the day-to-day operations.
In buying the successful business, Smittcamp was “committed to preserving the excellent reputation George and Cathy had nurtured over those many years they operated the Lime Lite.” Like-wise, neither has the new owner changed the décor; a warm, “San Francisco-style Steakhouse look” to which loyal patrons have become accustomed. What changes Smittcamp has implemented is to embellish the menu offerings to introduce some new California Cuisine-type dishes that also incorporate as much fresh valley-grown ingredients as possible, reflecting his farming family heritage.
Smittcamp is also in the process of creating a new marketing program that will highlight his large patio available for parties, his private meeting room and his “diverse offering of libations” at his inside and patio bars. Taking pride in “concocting a huge variety of specialty cocktails” is Long-time Head Bartender, Corey Woods. “I love it when customers and their guests try to stump me with an exotic drink request and sometimes they do; but once I make it and write the ingredients down, I don’t forget it.”
“We want the Lime Lite to continue to be an enjoyable dining experience where our valued patrons can always expect the very best in atmosphere, cuisine, wine, cocktails and friendly service from our staff” says Smittcamp with pride. The Lime Lite is located at 1054 W. Shaw Avenue in Fresno and is open Monday through Thursday, 11:00am to 12pm, and Friday and Saturday 11am to 2am, with lunch served from 11:30am to 2:30pm, and dinner from 5pm to 10pm daily (closed Sundays).
